Smilify.eu Report 2022
2022 was a difficult year for most of us. Just getting out of the COVID pandemic and trying to recover from that, we stepped into a new crisis resulting from the war in Ukraine, with the cost of fuel and in fact the cost of living increase for most people in Europe. We saw millions of refugees fleeing from Ukraine to Europe, and the instability in our local economies did not make things easier for everyone. Yet, we did manage to receive support from our community and in return, we managed to support those who needed it more.
In December 2022, we introduced Crypto donation with cooperation with the Giving Block, allowing for people to donate in Crypto.
In keeping with our four main pillars of support for Community, Employment, Education and environment, we supported 10 campaigns for our fundraising platform. True the smilify.eu platform and fundraising activities by OTI, we managed to raise €259,294.00. Keeping with our motto of sustainability this is how the funds were utilized:

€81,278 |
Of the €81,278, €6,000 was used to assist refugees with supplying food and clothing to families in need. €50,000, was spent on community centres which offered shelter, educational programs, employment and meals. €10,000 was spent on assisting in housing projects for homeless families. €15,278 was donated to local shelters for hosting (food, accommodation, well-being), training and campaigns for adopting stray dogs. |

Of the €50,000, €5,000 was allocated to creating opportunities for employment for youth from NEETS, and youth with fewer opportunities and given to different centres for support. €25,000 for part- and full-time workers and different community and youth centres and €20,000 on staff and equipment at our innovator’s hub, supporting new entrepreneurs with their journey to success. |

Education |
€48,000 |
€48,000 was spent on education which included the development of a variety of courses from language lessons to skill development to increase the employability of job seekers. A small portion of this was also dedicated to developing IT tools to support asynchronous learning and assessment tools in order to provide immersive learning experiences. €10,000 was donated to selected schools for supplies for children in need and other special categories. |

€5,000 was spent on funding various volunteering events for planting trees in different devasted areas and €75,000 was invested in a new social enterprise focusing on reverse recycling. News of this project will be announced by the second quarter of 2023. |

A total of 15821 people were positively impacted by funds raised in 2022 with the ongoing projects supporting more people daily. |
